Our Story
Hi! I’m Armi, and I want to share with you the remarkable journey that brought me to where I am today, as the proud co-founder of Redzel's Baguio - Home of Ube Halaya and Strawberry Preserves. When I left another life behind in 2001, it was me along with my two young children - my daughter, Renzel, just 5 years old, and my son, Red, 8 years old at that time - I faced the challenge of building a life for us from scratch.
I knew that I had to dig deep and find the strength within me to give my children the future they deserved. It was then that I turned to what I knew best: my family's unique and cherished Ube Halaya recipe.
As I began crafting each batch of ube halaya, I poured my heart and soul into every jar, knowing that my children's future depended on my efforts.
My son and I formed a tireless team, rising before any glimpse of sunrise in order for us to journey out and deliver our homemade creations knocking door-to-door to travelers in the early morning hours.
It was during those quiet mornings where we navigated the streets of Baguio City together, that we forged an unbreakable bond and laid the foundation for our family's future.
Years passed, and my son grew into a young man as he ventured out into the world to gain valuable experience and knowledge. And I continued to operate our modest business, taking custom orders and remaining true to the quality and love that defined Redzel’s.
In 2018, my son returned, armed with his gained expertise and a vision for growth. Together, we breathed new life into our beloved venture, expanding our reach and production.
We also went on to develop a one-of-a-kind honey-strawberry preserve that travelers and locals fell in love with.
Our hard work and dedication paid off as the demand for our products grew, and we soon found ourselves relocating to a bustling business location at 39 Legarda Road, Baguio City.
Today, I am overjoyed and proud to see Redzel's thrive, as a testament to the love, determination, and passion that we have poured into our small family business over the years.
